What’s an Aurin?
Aurins are a lot like humans!
They move around like humans, speak, create art, have ambitions, and fuck their own lives up by making terrible decisions.
What makes them a little different is that they’re almost all highly neurotic extroverts who are constantly seeking approval from their peers. They’re also not particularly interested in the world outside of the City they live in, which is just called “The City”.
They’re particularly prone to emotional outbursts and occasionally do terrible things.
Investigators for Hire
Players explore a cyberpunk setting of intrigue, performance, and hedonistic excess in order to uncover terrible truths about what makes aurins tick.
Solve cases, engage in high-stakes social conflicts, and wade into the gooey intersection of desire and desperation.

Conflict systems for both Social and Physical Conflicts help players and GMs navigate the complex interpersonal systems that govern the behavior of aurins, keeping things simple but allowing for impactful decisions.
Our unique storytelling structure keeps the focus on interesting elements of the story. Meandering legwork is compressed into a few fun choices players get to make each session and gives the GM more leeway to improvise.
A Unique Tabletop Experience
This is an uncompromising game, filled with graphic depictions of sex and emotionally weighty topics.
It evokes feelings of disgust, empathy, attraction and revulsion. There are mysteries to be solved and intolerable moral dilemmas to grapple with. There is rarely an obvious “right answer” to the problems presented, and players are often uncomfortable with the choices they must make.
We believe there’s an audience for games like this. There are people who want seriously engage with taboo topics that aren’t often explored in this space.
Of Aurin Essence is not for everyone, so we didn’t try to make it for everyone. For the right person it might be something special.
